If you feel like giving up on your passion, read this!

If you feel like giving up on your passion, read this!

Bianca is one of the best people I know, we met after I read one of her books that I just couldn't put down and, thanks to my unfiltered instincts, I sent her a DM. That was the beginning of a beautiful collaboration between an author and her editor.

This new book that she is working on has our full attention and hearts, so I am allowed to say the best things about it in a subjective way. Also, as this is both my blog and reading journal, I can tell you how damn good it feels to create something when two minds think as one and complete each other.

"Umbra ingerilor" (on Wattpad you can find the Romanian, unedited version until it's published) is a complete treasure and I couldn't be more proud of Bianca for writing this piece of mystery-thriller-dark-book. It's like nothing she wrote before. I saw her, I listened to her coming with idea after idea, creating such a twisted world, full of atypical characters. She gave everything, day by day, to make this dream of a book come to life. Yet something was still missing, she couldn't put the finger on exactly what it was. Then, after hours of brain storming together on the balcony floor, one with the laptop and one with the notebook filled with scenarios and ideas that didn't quite tie right, we finally saw that one line in the book that changed everything. From one sentence that didn't find its place, we created an entire Universe.

That night was one of the best memories I think I will ever have as an editor. The ideas were pouring from our souls, the plot building, the gaps filling one by one when, at 2AM, we looked at each other, tired, yet filled with thrill and rush, and we knew it, we had the plot. That moment was like nothing I ever felt before. I had goosebumps, my blood felt like it was going 300 km per hour and we just knew that we created something that would leave people with their mouths hanging open. (throw mud and cuss words at her, she's the brain behind this f-ed up story)

Now I could finally understand what it felt like. That feeling authors all around the world experience when they know they have the story. Thank you, Bianca, for giving me the chance of feeling that by your side. I am so, so proud of you and of your weird mind. You are going to create the greatest things, you will go international, you will be a best-selling author in so many countries that you won't be able to keep count on. And I will always be right next to you with an enthusiastic "OR, HOW ABOUT THIS.."

There are SO many downs with these jobs, both being an author and an editor, but the ups are so beautiful, that the bad parts won't even matter one day.

This was a very personal article, so, if you got to this point, thank you so much for being here and for letting me share these thoughts with you. I hope that, with this little story, I cold help at least one person in the literature domain remember the good parts, and to not give up on your dreams. As hard to get to as they seem, they will bring you the greatest joy.

Until next time, enjoy the realms others created! ✨
