💕 Safety Measures by Maeve Hazel is out and you have to read it!

A few weeks ago, I wrote a post about three indie authors I support and love. Well, Maeve Hazel, one of the authors I've mentioned there, just released her second book, "Safety Measures", and it's even better than "Indigo Eyes".
You can see the growth and the hard work put into this book even with your eyes closed and it was such and enjoyable story, I had to share my thoughts with all of you.
FYI, Maeve has no idea about this article, so, Maeve, if you are reading this, hi!
Book description
𝘽𝙡𝙖𝙞𝙨𝙚 𝙉𝙤𝙧𝙩𝙝
The aftermath of my parent’s death was the toughest time in my life, but at least I had him . He was there every step of the way, wiped the tears I shed, and made me smile when I’d forgotten how to.
Until he became the reason why I had to protect my heart with one simple rule—no more kissing.
Six years later, because life had a great sense of humor, I found myself having to use that same rule on the man who inspired it.
It’s no surprise it didn’t work. After all, my heart was never my own to protect—it belonged to Ares Hart the entire time.

Growing up, I didn’t have a perfect example of what love should look like. My parents were the definition of a disaster, and I didn’t intend to end up the same way.
So, I made myself a promise. To this day, I’ve followed it blindly, even if in the process I had to hurt the one I cared about the most.
But what I hadn’t realized was that the key to keeping my promise was right next to me the entire time.
Blaise North gave my vow purpose, and when I was finally ready to make up for my mistakes, the unexpected happened.
Goodreads overall rating (when this article is posted): 4.31 ⭐️
Do what you want with this information, I personally do care about a book's rating on GR before I start it, considering that I don't like to read what the book is about.
For who do I recommend this book?
This is one of those love stories that leave you with a heartache.
It's fun, spicy, fast paced, with a good plot twist and really easy to follow storyline.
If you are someone who loves quick reads with a good balance between the plot, the love and the smut, Safety Measures is definitely for you!
Why do I recommend this book?
Safety Measures is exactly the book you must pick up and read if you are in the mood for a quick, well written, fast paced and heartbreaking story.
I loved both of the characters so much, and don't even get me started on the extras. I loved Nanna and August just as much as I loved Ares and Blaise.
The plot twist in the end left me with my mouth hanging, and I can't help but feel so much love and pain for Ares, who, even though he got what you can call "a happy ending", still recovers from the life-changing betrayal of the one who should’ve loved him the most in this world.
The story is dual POV which I love so much and I know that a lot of you do as well!
One of the main characters is deaf and this kind of representation for disabilities, in my opinion, is a plus when it comes to books, leaving that perfect image of the MC in the past where it belongs as we add authenticity and real experiences to the story.
Extra things Maeve did to make the experience even better
- She is in the process of adapting the ebook version of the book for people with dyslexia, so it would make reading easier for them
- She included something she calls a "Di*ktionary" at the beginning, where you can find all of the smutty chapters in case you want to avoid them or go straight into the action.
My rating for Safety Measures: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
